You will work closely with consultants, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative, energy-efficient and cost-effective lighting solutions.</p><p>Here's how your role will strengthen our team.</p><p><strong>Your responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and coordinate lighting and lighting controls design, including photometric calculations and simulations</li><li>Create lighting and lighting controls layouts for design-build and value engineering opportunities</li><li>Review project drawing, specifications and bill of materials to ensure all lighting systems are accurately captured in estimates and project scopes</li><li>Provide technical support and resolve lighting and controls related issues during design, procurement and construction</li><li>Collaborate with manufacturers, representatives, consultants and project teams to identify optimal solutions</li><li>Review and approve lighting and controls purchase orders, submittals and shop drawings</li><li>Lead value- engineering initiatives and negotiate pricing with suppliers and manufacturers</li><li>Stay current with industry trends, technologies, codes and best practices in lighting and controls</li></ul><p><strong>Your experience and skills</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in lighting design, lighting control, quotations, electrical consulting or manufacturer representation</li><li>Strong knowledge of lighting control systems including design, programming, and troubleshooting</li><li>Experience in providing lighting and lighting control system design assistance</li><li>Proficiency with lighting design software such as AGI32, DIALux, Visual or similar tools</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and electrical design documents</li><li>Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills</li><li>Education or certification related to lighting and lighting controls are strong assets</li></ul><p><strong>About Houle</strong></p><p>As BC's leading electrical contractor and systems integrator, we believe in delivering safe, reliable power for the future.
