<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>We are seeking a Mechanical Product Designer II to join our Opto-Mechanical (SMECH) team. This is not a typical "follow-the-specs" design role. We're looking for a proactive, self-driven engineer who can "think on their feet" and take ownership of projects from concept to production.</p><p>The ideal candidate is passionate about precision engineering and data-driven design. You will be a key player in developing our next-generation 3D metrology and sensor products, applying your technical skills to solve complex challenges on tight timelines. If you thrive on analyzing data to validate designs and are motivated by seeing your work come to life, we want to hear from you.</p><p>As a peer to another Product Designer II, you will routinely apply your skills to design, develop, test, and deliver on project requirements.</p><ul><li>Design &amp; Development: Design, develop, and test mechanical and opto-mechanical components and assemblies for our high-performance 3D sensor products.</li><li>Data-Driven Analysis: Apply statistical analysis (such as Lean Six Sigma concepts) to analyze sensor data from builds. You will use this data to assess design requirement adherence, validate performance, and establish robust specifications for future products.</li><li>Proactive Problem-Solving: Actively identify and overcome technical obstacles. When timelines are impacted, you will be expected to proactively research, develop, test, and propose alternative solutions.</li><li>Project Ownership: Manage your project tasks from concept to production. multiple technical projects simultaneously from concept through implementation.</li><li>Hands-on experience with prototyping methods such as 3D printing, machining, CAD (SolidWorks strongly preferred), or other rapid development tools.</li><li>Experience creating detailed how-to guides and illustrations (Adobe Illustrator experience is an asset)</li><li>Experience designing, executing,
