Assistant Building Manager<br /><br />Responsibilities<br /><br />Provide a high level of cooperation, service, and support to residents.<br /><br />Respond promptly to resident concerns and service requests.<br /><br />Assist Building Managers in showing available apartments to prospective residents.<br /><br />Oversee daily building operations when Building Managers are off duty.<br /><br />Assist with move‑in and move‑out procedures at month‑end.<br /><br />Ensure building cleanliness.<br /><br />Perform all aspects of the role in compliance with applicable legislation, including health and safety standards, WHMIS, AODA, PIPEDA, and human rights.<br /><br />Take initiative to address deficiencies by maintaining clean, debris‑free lobbies, hallways, and property grounds, and performing minor tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, basic plumbing or electrical fixes).<br /><br />Ensure all areas are hazard‑free; if not immediately resolvable, report to management for prompt resolution.<br /><br />Perform other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the role.<br /><br />Responsible for rent collection.<br /><br />Assist Building Managers with daily tasks.<br /><br />Qualifications<br /><br />High school diploma or equivalent.<br /><br />1–2 years of relevant experience in customer service or a similar role.<br /><br />Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, email, etc.).<br /><br />Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, plastering, carpentry, painting, etc.<br /><br />Experience in the multi‑residential housing industry or a related field is considered an asset.<br /><br />Commitment to best‑in‑class customer service.<br /><br />Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.<br /><br />High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.<br /><br />Ability to listen, understand, and respond appropriately to issues.<br /><br />Ability to work and act independently using sound judgment.<br /><br />Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.<br /><br />Self‑motivated individual with a “can‑do” attitude and willingness to take on any task.<br /><br />Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.<br /><br />Excellent problem‑solving abilities.<br /><br />Bilingualism in French and English is required.<br /><br />Active advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion to create a sense of belonging.<br /><br />Preferred Qualifications<br /><br />Experience with fire and building safety inspections (an asset).<br /><br />Knowledge of laws, legislation, and tenant rights (an asset).<br /><br />Experience in building/property maintenance (an asset).<br /><br />Yardi experience is an asset.<br /><br />Benefits<br /><br />A collaborative, inclusive workplace culture that prioritizes employee wellbeing and safety.<br /><br />Meaningful opportunities for professional growth and development.<br /><br />Exposure to a diverse portfolio of real estate assets across North America.<br /><br />A competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support you and your family.<br /><br />Support for work‑life balance, along with accessible employment practices that meet AODA requirements.<br /><br />EEO Commitment<br />Diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
