Job Description
Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB) has given an employment notification for conducting the MP Primary School Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2024. This test is mandatory for candidates seeking teaching positions in government and private primary schools in Madhya Pradesh.
About MPESB PSTET 2024
The MP Primary School Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB) for candidates who wish to be eligible for appointment as a primary school teacher in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This test evaluates the candidate's teaching aptitude and subject knowledge.
Papers in MPESB PSTET 2024
- Paper-I: For candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to V
- Paper-II: For candidates who intend to be teachers for classes VI to VIII
Exam Pattern
Paper-I (Primary Level):
- Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Language I (Hindi) - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Language II (English) - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Mathematics - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Environmental Studies - 30 questions - 30 marks
Paper-II (Upper Primary Level):
- Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Language I (Hindi) - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Language II (English) - 30 questions - 30 marks
- Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies - 60 questions - 60 marks (Choose any one subject)
The examination will be conducted in offline mode (OMR based) with a duration of 2.5 hours for each paper. All questions will be multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each with no negative marking.

- Register with your basic details if you are a new user
- Log in with your credentials
- Fill out the application form with required details
- Upload scanned copies of photograph and signature in the specified format (passport size photograph in JPG format of size 10KB to 200KB and signature in JPG format of size 3KB to 50KB)
- Pay the application fee online through credit card/debit card/net banking
- Submit the application and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference
Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
For Paper-I (Primary Teacher - Classes I to V):
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
For Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher - Classes VI to VIII):
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
Age Limit:
There is no age limit for appearing in the MPESB PSTET 2024. However, candidates must fulfill the age criteria as prescribed by the Madhya Pradesh government for teacher recruitment at the time of applying for teacher positions.
Nationality:
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Note: For SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates, the minimum qualifying marks shall be relaxed by 5%.
