Selection Procedure Of IBPS Specialist Officer Selection Process
IBPS will conduct the Common Recruitment Process in two stages- Online Preliminary and Online Main Examination, Common Interview and provisional allotment for recruitment of Specialist Officers posts in Participating Banks has the approval of the appropriate authorities.
Common Recruitment Process Of IBPS Specialist Officer Selection Process
The Examination will consist of Prelims & Mains. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
i. Prelims Examination: This Exam consists of 150 questions and carries 125 marks in 2 hours.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. An Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.
ii. Main Examination:
For the Post of Law Officer, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer: The Professional Knowledge Test consists of 60 questions and carries 60 marks in 45 minutes.
For the Post of Rajbhasha Adhikari: Professional Knowledge (Objective & Descriptive) Test consists of 47 questions and carries 60 marks in 60 minutes.
Marks Obtained in the Online Main examination only will be considered for shortlisting for Interview and also for final merit listing.
Common Interview Of IBPS Specialist Officer Selection Process
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CRP SPL will subsequently be called for an Interview conducted by the Participating Organisation and coordinated by the nodal banks in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. The total marks allotted for the Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online CWE (exam) and interview will be 80:20. The combined final scores of candidates shall be arrived at based on the total scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Main Examination of CRP (SPL) & Interview. Interview scores of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed. A candidate should qualify both in the Online Main Examination and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for the subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on the authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in
Provisional Allotment Of IBPS Specialist Officer Selection Process
On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2025-26 based on the business needs of the Participating Banks and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/Others, administrative exigency, etc. Vacancies given in this notification are indicative. Provisional allotment shall be done based on actual vacancies to be reported by the Participating Banks. Candidates should not claim indicative vacancies as final for provisional allotment. No change in the data already registered by the candidate in the online application form is possible.
A candidate belonging to a reserved category, selected based on norms as applicable to the General Category, will be treated at par with a General category candidate. Such own merit candidates belonging to reserved categories who are provisionally allotted under unreserved (General) category will not be adjusted against a reserved post. However, their original category as registered in the online registration will remain unchanged and they shall be required to produce their caster certificate as applicable to them irrespective of their selection under the unreserved category. Failure to provide the same shall debar the candidate from further process.
The decision of IBPS in the provisional allotment of a candidate to a Participating Organisation shall be final and binding upon the selected candidates. However, IBPS reserves the right to cancel and reallot Organisation-wise allocation depending upon exigencies or otherwise. The candidates, however, shall have no right to demand re-allotment on any grounds and allotment once done shall be final and binding on the candidates.
This is an All India cadre and provisionally allotted candidates (subject to fulfilling all required criteria) may be posted anywhere in India/ outside India as per the discretion of the participating bank.
