This role is responsible for preparing individual, fiduciary, non-profit, partnership, S-corporation, and C-corporation income tax returns, and for supporting payroll tax return preparation for our farm clients. Together, we empower farm families to achieve their goals and control their future.<br /><br />Why You’ll Love This Role<br /><br />As the<br /><br />Agricultural<br /><br />Senior Tax Preparer , you will:<br /><br />Tax Return Preparation<br /><br />Prepare federal and state income tax returns for agricultural individuals, partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, and fiduciaries, including the more complex and higher-difficulty returns assigned within the team.<br /><br />Client & Member Consulting<br /><br />Deliver year-end tax planning meetings for assigned farm members and clients.<br />Meet with farm members and clients to review their tax return, line‑by‑line, answering their questions and explaining tax situations in a clear manner.<br />Provide tax consulting for farm members and clients as needed.<br />Address questions and notices received from clients.<br /><br />Payroll Tax Support<br /><br />Support preparation of quarterly and annual payroll reporting for our clients as needed.<br /><br />Research & Technical Guidance<br /><br />Research tax rules, reading, interpreting, and taking action.<br /><br />Review & Mentoring<br /><br />Review income tax and payroll tax returns prepared by other team members, providing feedback and technical guidance.<br />Provide mentoring, training, and technical guidance to Tax Preparers and other tax team members.<br />Additional duties as assigned.<br /><br />What We’re Looking For<br /><br />7–10 years of public tax experience (Agricultural tax experience preferred)<br />Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required<br />CPA or Enrolled Agent required<br />Experience with UltraTax and CFS Payroll tax software preferred<br />Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel<br />Ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in using AgManager® and CRM software<br />Advanced written and verbal communication skills, communicating clearly and concisely<br />Ability to understand and explain economic and accounting information, interpret financial statements, and apply tax rules to member and client situations<br />Strong attention to detail<br />Ability to review the work of others, provide constructive feedback, and mentor less experienced team members<br />High ethical standards, with conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards<br /><br />Why You’ll Love Working at UnCommon Farms<br /><br />Flexibility:<br /><br />This position offers a hybrid work option, combining remote work flexibility with at least 2 days a week in the office in Brighton, IL office, with fully remote work considered based on location.<br />Comprehensive Coverage:<br /><br />Medical, dental, vision, and more<br />Peace of Mind:<br /><br />Company-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance<br />Financial Growth:<br /><br />401(k) with 50% company match<br />Time to Recharge:<br /><br />Start with 3 weeks of paid vacation, 1 week of paid sick time, and 11 company-paid holidays.<br />Casual & Comfortable:<br /><br />A relaxed dress code so you can focus on what matters.<br />Invest in Your Future:<br /><br />Tuition assistance to help you achieve your goals.<br /><br />Competitive Compensation That Rewards Your Expertise<br /><br />At UnCommon Farms, we recognize and value the expertise you bring.
