Key Job Responsibilities
Station Master:
- Overall management and control of railway station operations
- Ensuring safety and punctuality of train services
- Coordination with train crew and control office
- Managing passenger services and facilities
- Maintaining station records and reports
Traffic Assistant:
- Assisting in train operations and traffic management
- Signal operation and point operation duties
- Maintaining traffic registers and documents
- Communication with control office and stations
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols
Goods Guard:
- Ensuring safe loading and unloading of freight trains
- Checking train formation and brake power
- Maintaining goods train records and way bills
- Coordinating with locomotive pilot and station staff
- Ensuring security of goods during transit
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate degree from a recognized university in any discipline
- For specific posts, relevant subject background may be preferred
- Minimum 50% marks in graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates)
Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 30 years (as on the closing date of application)
- Age relaxation: OBC - 3 years, SC/ST - 5 years, PwD - 10 years
- Ex-servicemen get age relaxation as per government rules
Medical Standards:
- Visual acuity: 6/6 and 6/9 (with or without glasses)
- Good physical and mental health
- Fitness for the specific post as per Railway medical standards
- Color vision: Normal for safety-related posts
