<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p> </p><p>As a <strong>Site HSE Coordinator</strong>, you will be the on-site construction safety officer, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on-site. You will provide health, safety, and environmental support to help ensure Ventana not only meets, but exceeds, industry standards. You will support the Project Superintendent on-site throughout the construction phase and be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of Ventana’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program.</p><p> </p><p><strong>As a Site HSE Coordinator your key accountabilities will involve:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Coordinating the implementation of Ventana’s HSE Program at a jobsite level, acting as the primary site safety officer for workers and trade partners.</li><li>Monitoring HSE performance of workers and trade partners.</li><li>Developing site-specific safety plans, procedures, exposure control plans, hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments.</li><li>Conducting site-specific orientations for all new site workers and visitors.</li><li>Facilitating and participating in site inspections and implementing corrective action.</li><li>Proactively identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures.</li><li>Preparing site safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments.</li><li>Reviewing trade partner documentation for accuracy and providing feedback to personnel.</li><li>Conducting safety and toolbox talks, WorkSafeBC-compliant site inspections, and safety audits.</li><li>Implementing and overseeing Ventana’s Injury Management Program and administering first-aid as necessary.</li><li>Assisting with additional duties such as site maintenance and the resolution of HSE-related matters as required.<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>As a </strong><strong>Site HSE Coordinator </strong><strong>your success is dependent on:</strong><br /></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment.</li><li>The ability to be self-motivated and a self-starter.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).</li><li>The ability to build solid long-lasting relationships.</li><li>The ability to anticipate problems and solve proactively.</li><li>A high attention to detail.</li><li>A high degree of professionalism and maturity.</li><li>Strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills with the ability to respond to problems in a friendly and solution-oriented manner.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>As a Site HSE Coordinator your experience and qualifications will include:</strong></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Experience as a construction safety officer, CSO or Site HSE Coordinator overseeing health and safety on a construction site.</li><li>Advanced First Aid / OFA Level 3 Certification</li><li>Solid knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, the OHS Regulation, policies, guidelines and standards.</li><li>Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification is an asset.<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>What we have to offer:</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>Competitive wages, plus potential profit sharing</li><li>Matching RRSP program</li><li>Paid vacation</li><li>Extended benefits, Employee Assistance Program, Life Insurance, AD&amp;D, LTD, CI</li><li>Professional development support</li><li>Lunch provided monthly</li><li>We get together often for company-wide social events</li><li>COR-certified construction company<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>We have a lot to be proud of at Ventana Construction.  As a full-service construction partner, our goal is to deliver the best building and the best service possible for our clients.
