Such products are expected to play a critical role in the 5G upgrade of telecommunication networks globally, data center network connectivity, 3D sensing, AR&amp;VR etc. PMC holds numerous patents in the United States, the European Union, and Japan.</p><p><br /></p><p>Position Summary</p><p>Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this senior management role is integral to PMCs technical and product development operations. The Senior Manager of Technical Program Management will lead strategic technical initiatives, drive product development programs, and act as a key bridge between Sales and Engineering. This role will accelerate market adoption of MEMS solutions, support customer success, and shape future product strategy in the telecom and datacom sectors.</p><p><br /></p><p>Duties and Responsibilities</p><p>Technical Strategy &amp; Leadership</p><ul><li>Develop and execute technical program roadmaps aligned with sales objectives and market opportunities.</li><li>Lead cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and risk management processes to ensure successful program outcomes and customer satisfaction.</li></ul><p>Market Research &amp; Product Strategy</p><ul><li>Conduct market-driven MEMS research to identify emerging customer needs and competitive threats.</li><li>Analyze customer feedback and market trends to inform product roadmap priorities.</li><li>Lead research initiatives on next-generation MEMS designs, actuation mechanisms, and integrated optical-mechanical solutions.</li><li>Collaborate with Sales to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering recommendations.</li></ul><p>Technical Program Execution &amp; Customer Success</p><ul><li>Oversee development and delivery of custom and standard MEMS products from requirements through production.</li><li>Serve as the primary technical liaison between Sales/customers and Engineering.</li><li>Support technical discussions, proposal development, and solution validation.</li><li>Monitor program health, manage risks, and escalate issues to ensure commitments are met.</li></ul><p>MEMS Design, Simulation &amp; Technical Guidance </p><ul><li>Leverage expertise in MEMS design and simulation (FEA, COMSOL, ANSYS, optical modeling) to guide engineering teams.</li><li>Review and validate designs for feasibility and manufacturability.</li><li>Mentor teams on design optimization and design-for-manufacturability principles.</li></ul><p>Manufacturing &amp; Quality Excellence </p><ul><li>Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to support customer requirements and volume commitments.</li><li>Champion quality assurance initiatives to maintain industry-leading standards (ISO 9001:2015, Telcordia, AEC-Q).</li><li>Ensure smooth transition of new programs from engineering to production.</li></ul><p>Team Development &amp; Collaboration</p><ul><li>Build, mentor, and develop technical program management capabilities with strong MEMS expertise.</li><li>Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture bridging Sales and Engineering.</li><li>Implement best practices in program management to enhance cross-functional efficiency.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Direct Reports</p><ul><li>To be determined (may include program coordinators or project leads as the team grows).<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Physical Requirements and Work Environment</p><ul><li>Primarily office-based, with collaboration via telephone, video calls, or in-person meetings.</li><li>Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime or after-hours meetings as needed.</li><li>Extended periods of sitting, typing, and completing repetitive computer tasks.</li></ul><p></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field (Masters preferred).</li><li>Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in technical program management, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.</li><li>Hands-on expertise in MEMS design and simulation (FEA, COMSOL, ANSYS, optical/thermal analysis).</li><li>Proven experience in MEMS product R&amp;D and guiding engineering teams.</li><li>Strong sales-oriented mindset with ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements.</li><li>Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Willingness to relocate to Burnaby, BC.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in MEMS, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.</li><li>5+ years direct MEMS design and simulation experience in optical or RF MEMS.</li><li>Experience in MEMS product research, technology scouting, and next-generation solutions.</li><li>Background in Technical Sales, Field Application Engineering, or customer-facing roles.</li><li>Familiarity with fiber optic networks and telecom/datacom markets.</li><li>Knowledge of MEMS packaging, integration, and driver/controller design.</li><li>International team/operations experience (Canada, China, or other regions).</li><li>Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2).</li><li>Published technical papers or patents in MEMS.</li><li>Proficiency in Mandarin or Korean (spoken and written).</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>What We Offer</p><ul><li>Senior management role with opportunity to shape product strategy and technology roadmaps.</li><li>Exposure to cutting-edge MEMS design tools and world-class engineering teams.</li><li>Collaborative environment valuing technical excellence and customer success.</li><li>Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.</li><li>Equity participation and global market exposure.</li><li>Flexible relocation support and timeline.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><em></em></p><p><em></em></p></div></div>
