Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances, such as IEC 61850, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from preliminary engineering through to the commissioning and startup.</p><p></p><p>We are currently seeking a highly motivated <span>Electrical/Substation</span> Engineer to join our engineering team on a full time basis. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.</p><p></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>· Complete and authenticate outdoor substation design packages for ampacity diagram, layouts, plot plans, bus elevations, ground grid, <span>equipment/structure</span> grounding details, control &amp; power cable layouts, control building electrical design, for voltage levels ranging from 25kV to 240kV.</p><p>· Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design conformance is accomplished.</p><p>· Complete calculations and studies to support the design, including grounding, lightning, lighting, AC/DC Load Studies, station service transformer and battery bank sizing, insulation coordination, and rigid bus study.</p><p>· Complete MV cable ampacity calculations with CYMCAP.</p><p>· Develop equipment and apparatus specifications suitable for project application.</p><p>· Review vendor documentation and drawings to ensure constructability, operability, and compliance with equipment specifications and design.</p><p>· Develop and maintain bill of materials for substation outdoor installation.</p><p>· Review engineered outputs to ensure compliance with project defined scopes and client requirements.</p><p>· Provide site construction and commissioning support when needed.</p><p>· Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data.</p><p>· Interface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issues.</p><p>· Provide mentoring guidance and direction to junior members of the team.</p><p>· Assist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practices.</p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>· The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.</p><p>· Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA).</p><p>· Minimum 6 to 8 years of high voltage related substation experience</p><p>· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential.</p><p>· Solid base knowledge of electrical theory and mathematics.</p><p>· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.</p><p>· Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills.</p><p>· Working knowledge of relevant Canadian, Ontario and Alberta codes and standards (CEC, CSA, AEUC, OESC etc.) would be advantageous.</p><p>Phasor Engineering Inc. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package and excellent opportunities for growth and advancement.
