Fire Protection Designer (Sprinkler Systems)

<p>Fire Protection Designer – Waltham, MA<br />~ $95,000–$115,000/year DOE | Direct Hire | Hybrid Schedule<br /><br />An established mechanical contractor is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to support sprinkler system design for projects in life sciences, healthcare, and higher education . Projects range in size from $50K to $20M and are located throughout the Greater Boston area.<br /><br />Responsibilities:<br /><br />Design layouts for sprinkler systems in coordination with other MEP trades<br /><br />Perform hydraulic calculations and generate stock listings<br /><br />Attend coordination meetings (virtual and/or in person)<br /><br />Conduct site surveys and hydrant flow tests<br /><br />Support estimating team with review and preparation of bid drawings<br /><br />Qualifications:<br /><br />~ 3+ years of sprinkler design and hydraulic calculation experience<br /><br />Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems<br /><br />Working knowledge of NFPA standards<br /><br />NICET certification preferred<br /><br />Experience with AutoSPRINK preferred<br /><br />Previous field installation experience a plus<br /><br />Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)<br /><br />Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects<br /><br />Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient<br /><br />Strong communication skills and commitment to client satisfaction<br /><br />Additional Information:<br /><br />Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)<br /><br />Work Environment: Hybrid (some remote flexibility), not fully remote<br /><br />Travel: Occasional local site visits<br /><br />Overtime: May be required on occasion<br /><br />Work Attire: Business casual<br /><br />Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire<br /><br />Sponsorship: Not available<br /><br />Location: Waltham, MA 02452<br /><br />#J-18808-Ljbffr</p>
