District Career and Technical Education Coordinator<br />Starting Date: Jul 15, 2026<br /><br />Job Title<br />JOB TITLE: DISTRICT CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR<br /><br />Department<br />DEPARTMENT: INSTRUCTION<br /><br />Reports to<br />REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION<br /><br />Approval<br />APPROVED BY: SUPERINTENDENT DATE: 06/29/26<br /><br />Summary of Duties<br />The District Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator leads the District’s CTE programs, workforce development efforts, and student transition initiatives. The Coordinator develops and maintains a comprehensive program of school-based programs, business and community partnerships, and work experiences that bring community partners and the district together to achieve this goal. The Coordinator directs Career-Technical Education programming and related instructional and transition services to help the students make a smooth transition from education to work or post‑secondary education.<br /><br />Qualifications / Requirements<br /><br />Must have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history.<br /><br />Be in good health as evidenced by completion of a physical examination as prescribed by the Board.<br /><br />Be of good character and moral behavior; demonstrate people skills.<br /><br />Experience in Career-Technical Education preferred.<br /><br />Have completed a Guidance Counselor or Principal Preparation program.<br /><br />Responsibilities<br /><br />Works with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement formal and informal student events and activities that enhance a college and career school culture, CTE preparations, and student showcases of learning.<br /><br />Works in cooperation with the administrative staff of Barren County High School and the Barren County Area Technology Center.<br /><br />Works with school administration, BCHS teachers, students, and community partners to coordinate the completion of Senior Community Capstone projects.<br /><br />Supports CTE course scheduling with Barren County High School guidance counselors and administrative staff.<br /><br />Provides one‑on‑one transition counseling services to students as needed.<br /><br />Maintains accurate data related to student pathway progress, industry certifications, transition readiness, work‑based learning, and End‑of‑Program Assessment eligibility.<br /><br />Assists in student recruitment and enrollment in CTE‑related dual‑credit courses.<br /><br />Coordinates EOP testing for Barren County High School students.<br /><br />Provides and expands support for career readiness partners, including program advisory councils, local businesses, post‑secondary partners, community‑based organizations, city and county municipalities, students, teachers, and parents.<br /><br />Serves as liaison to the KDE Office of Career and Technical Education, all partner colleges, and CTE advisory boards.<br /><br />Ensures the timely completion of TEDS reporting.<br /><br />Supports the development of articulation agreements to ensure they function to the benefit of post‑secondary success for students.<br /><br />Writes the annual Perkins grant and works with the Director of Instruction in budgeting and monitoring of Perkins funding.<br /><br />Works with the Director of Instruction in the annual budgeting and monitoring of Supplemental Vocational Funding.<br /><br />Provides professional development for administrators, teachers, and counselors on CTE programming, career preparation, and academic integration.<br /><br />Manages work‑based learning opportunities and tracking both on and off campus, including annual data entry into Infinite Campus.<br /><br />Serves as liaison between school, business, industry, military, higher education, and community agencies.<br /><br />Works with Career‑Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).<br /><br />Works with District Information Officer and Barren County High School to promote and publicize CTE through various media.<br /><br />Prepares statistical and narrative reports and presentations.<br /><br />Works with faculty and staff on program and curriculum development in CTE areas, college preparedness, and other post‑secondary options.<br /><br />Works with the District and assists Barren County High School with college readiness assessment programs.<br /><br />Works with middle school faculty and staff on CTE pre‑programs, College and Career Development and courses, and innovative learning opportunities.<br /><br />Participates as a member of the District Instructional team as requested.<br /><br />Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or building principal.<br /><br />Additional Requirements<br /><br />Will be required to complete all required training and attend in‑service sessions.<br /><br />Perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.<br /><br />Consistently displays self‑control with parents, students, and school personnel.<br /><br />Maintains a clean workstation (bus, desk, office, etc.) and does maintenance as needed.<br /><br />Be clean, neat, and appropriately dressed.<br /><br />Be consistently responsible and display an attitude of honesty and credibility.<br /><br />Show enthusiasm, interest, and concern for the total program and its efficient operation.<br /><br />Maintain student control.<br /><br />Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times.<br /><br />Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Barren County Public Schools.<br /><br />Maintain regular and punctual attendance.<br /><br />Terms of Employment<br /><br />Work year is comprised of 185 days plus 35 extended days for a total of 220 days per year.<br /><br />Salary commensurate with the adopted certified personnel salary schedule.<br /><br />Sick leave, personal leave, and holidays are provided as stated in board policy.<br /><br />The employee is an “at‑will” employee, and the superintendent may terminate this employment at any time.<br /><br />Evaluation<br />Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy
