Job Title Full‑Time Job Developer<br /><br />Job Summary MARC, Inc. of Manchester is seeking a full‑time Job Developer who will perform job searches and development for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Job Developer is responsible for identifying and cultivating employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, building strong relationships with employers, understanding workforce needs, and matching them with qualified program participants. This role focuses on supporting individuals in achieving meaningful, integrated employment, working collaboratively with team members.<br /><br />Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position.<br /><br />This role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week.<br /><br />Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities<br /><br />Identify and secure competitive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the community.<br /><br />Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive hiring.<br /><br />Conduct employer outreach, including cold calls, in‑person visits, job fairs, and networking events.<br /><br />Assess client interests, skills, and work‑readiness to make appropriate job matches.<br /><br />Advocate for workplace accommodations and educate employers about disability inclusion and benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.<br /><br />Assist with resume development, interview preparation, and other employment‑readiness activities as needed.<br /><br />Coordinate interviews, working interviews, and job placements.<br /><br />Develop and evaluate job descriptions at employment sites.<br /><br />Conduct orientations for MARC, Inc. Employment Services participants as needed.<br /><br />Provide information on transportation options and assist individuals in coordinating these options.<br /><br />Ensure safety and emergency procedures at employment sites.<br /><br />Collaborate with direct support professionals and management to support job retention and career growth.<br /><br />Track and document employer contacts, job leads, and participant progress in the agency database.<br /><br />Maintain knowledge of labor market trends, industry needs, and local hiring practices.<br /><br />Ensure compliance with all program requirements and agency policies; attend agency meetings and trainings.<br /><br />Perform other duties as designated by the Director of Employment and Career Services.<br /><br />Minimum Qualifications<br /><br />High school diploma or GED required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, business, or a related field preferred.<br /><br />Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other vulnerable populations strongly preferred.<br /><br />Proven ability in sales, marketing, or job development roles, especially within workforce development or nonprofit sectors.<br /><br />Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.<br /><br />Must have a flexible schedule to include occasional nights and weekends.<br /><br />Knowledge of ADA, disability rights, and inclusive employment practices is a plus.<br /><br />Valid driver’s license and the ability to transport people served as needed.<br /><br />Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability.<br /><br />Physical Efforts<br /><br />Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.<br /><br />Ability to sit, stand, use a telephone, and type at a computer.<br /><br />Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of non‑ambulatory people.<br /><br />Work Remotely<br /><br />No.<br /><br />About MARC, Inc.<br />MARC, Inc. of Manchester is a not‑for‑profit agency that supports people with disabilities in Manchester, Connecticut and surrounding towns since 1952.
