Remote Frontend/Backend Developer-Part-Time

Job description Location:  Remote (U.S. – Washington, DC Metro Area preferred) Part-Time (960 hours over contract period)<br />Clearance:  Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)<br />Job Description:<br />Viderity is seeking a skilled Frontend/Backend Developer  to build and support a secure, user-friendly federal web portal (e.g., the Applicant Portal). This full-time role involves developing both client-facing interfaces and backend infrastructure, ensuring a seamless experience for users across the system.<br />This role is aligned with the Senior Software Engineer I  category under the Mathematica GSA MAS Labor Categories , which includes responsibilities such as software design, coding, debugging, and leading smaller development teams.<br />Key Responsibilities:<br />Frontend:<br />Build and maintain responsive, accessible web portals (508 compliant).<br /><br />Implement clean and intuitive UI/UX using modern frameworks.<br /><br />Develop role-based access control (RBAC) for multi-user environments.<br /><br />Participate in UI/UX reviews and peer code reviews.<br /><br />Backend:<br />Design and maintain RESTful APIs and integration workflows.<br /><br />Manage metadata ingestion pipelines, user authentication, and logic layers.<br /><br />Implement database interactions and secure data transactions.<br /><br />Maintain continuous deployment/integration pipelines.<br /><br />Job requirements Minimum Qualifications:<br />Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.<br /><br />5 years of relevant software development experience.<br /><br />Equivalent substitutions accepted per GSA guidelines.<br /><br />Preferred Skills:<br />React, Angular, or Vue for frontend development.<br /><br />Node.js, Python, or Java for backend APIs.<br /><br />Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar RDBMS.<br /><br />Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).<br /><br />Strong understanding of security, compliance (e.g., FedRAMP, 508), and performance optimization.<br /><br />Why Viderity:<br />At Viderity, you’ll join a mission-driven team supporting innovative federal programs.
