Developer

This position will work 100% on-site in Southaven, Mississippi<br /><br />Work unit test developer/innovator who leads the development, innovation, evaluation, and implementation of novel/new tests, methodologies, technologies, or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of laboratory directors and principal developer. Responsible for improvement of existing methods or implementation of novel technology of proven validity within the work unit. Organizes new method validation data, prepares data for publication and peer review, and participates in formal presentations. Work unit mentor for test development /innovation staff.<br /><br />This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship/we will not sponsor or transfer a visa for this role. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F1 STEM OPT extension program.<br /><br />This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. As the organization matures, the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories.<br /><br />Shift Schedules<br /><br />First Shift: 2:00 AM – 10:30 AM<br /><br />Second Shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM<br /><br />Third shift: 7:00pm- 2:30am<br /><br />Tuesday–Saturday<br /><br />Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution<br /><br />OR bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS.<br /><br />Four years of relevant laboratory experience;<br /><br />OR a Master's degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or medical technology and two years of relevant laboratory experience.<br /><br />Additional Qualifications:<br /><br />A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.<br /><br />Other clinical laboratory specialty certificates will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.<br /><br />Academic rank preferred.<br /><br />Master's degree or Doctoral (PhD) degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or medical technology preferred.<br /><br />Self-motivated, highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently exercising strong decision-making skills.<br /><br />Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br /><br />Capable of creating a method using reference material and adapting existing knowledge and procedures to develop novel methods or products.<br /><br />Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures is required.<br /><br />ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.<br /><br />Benefits Highlights<br /><br />Medical: Multiple plan options.<br /><br />Dental: Delta Dental or reimbursement account for flexible coverage.<br /><br />Vision: Affordable plan with national network.<br /><br />Pre-Tax Savings: HSA and FSAs for eligible expenses.<br /><br />Retirement: Competitive retirement package to secure your future.<br /><br />#J-18808-Ljbffr
