Customer Service Representative

Expected First-Year Compensation: $50,000–$60,000<br />Start a Career in Insurance<br />Our State Farm independent contractor agency is hiring a Customer Service Representative to join our team. The selected candidate may work from either our Staten Island, NY office or our Bayonne, NJ office .<br /><br />No previous insurance experience is required. We are looking for someone who communicates well, stays organized, enjoys helping people, and wants an opportunity to build a professional career. We provide hands‑on training and support to help you obtain the required insurance licenses.<br /><br />What You'll Do<br /><br />Help customers with billing, policy, and account questions<br /><br />Process policy changes and customer service requests<br /><br />Respond to customers by phone, text, and email<br /><br />Explain insurance coverage and available options<br /><br />Follow up on outstanding customer needs<br /><br />Assist with claims‑related questions and next steps<br /><br />Maintain accurate customer records<br /><br />Identify potential coverage gaps and additional insurance needs<br /><br />Work with our team to improve customer satisfaction and retention<br /><br />What We’re Looking For<br /><br />Strong communication and customer service skills<br /><br />Organized, dependable, and detail‑oriented<br /><br />Comfortable speaking with customers by phone<br /><br />Able to multitask and solve problems<br /><br />Comfortable learning new technology and systems<br /><br />Coachable, team‑oriented, and interested in professional growth<br /><br />Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, banking, an office environment, or a call center is helpful but not required .<br /><br />$42,000–$48,000 base salary , based on experience<br /><br />$50,000–$60,000 expected first‑year total compensation<br /><br />Monthly performance‑based bonus opportunities<br /><br />100% employer‑paid employee health insurance<br /><br />401(k) with employer match<br /><br />Paid time off and paid holidays<br /><br />Employer‑paid life insurance<br /><br />Insurance licensing support and licensing bonus<br /><br />Paid training and professional development<br /><br />This is a full‑time, in‑office position .
