Billing Specialist

JOB DUTIES:<br /><br />Skilled Nursing Facility Medical Billing Specialist<br /><br />Job Description<br /><br />We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare or medical billing and be comfortable working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay accounts.<br /><br />Job Duties<br /><br />Verify eligibility and benefits for new resident admissions.<br /><br />Meet with residents and/or their families to explain admission agreements and obtain all required signatures.<br /><br />Perform medical billing functions, including billing Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay accounts.<br /><br />Review and resolve claim denials and billing issues.<br /><br />Post and balance electronic and manual payments.<br /><br />Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.<br /><br />Identify, research, and resolve overpayments and other account discrepancies.<br /><br />Maintain accurate and organized billing records.<br /><br />Communicate professionally with residents, families, insurance companies, and facility staff regarding billing and payment matters.<br /><br />Requirements<br /><br />Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred but not required.<br /><br />Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or medical billing .<br /><br />Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay billing preferred.<br /><br />Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, medical billing clearinghouses, and medical billing software systems.<br /><br />Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.<br /><br />Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.<br /><br />Disclaimer<br /><br />The responsibilities listed above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this position.
