At OPTYO, you will work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with direct exposure to how high-growth D2C brands are built, optimized, and scaled.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p><p>We are hiring a Business Development Representative to join our sales team and build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities from the ground up. In this role, you will lead outbound prospecting, drive lead generation, and create early-stage relationships that open doors for our Senior Growth Managers to close.</p><p><br /></p><p>You will have real ownership over your outreach, direct visibility into how high-growth D2C brands are won and scaled, and a clear path to grow into a Senior Growth Manager (Account Executive) role as you prove yourself.</p><p><br /></p><p>This is an entry-to-mid-level position built for someone who wants to break into the sports and fitness marketing space, earn through performance, and grow fast within a team that takes winning seriously.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ol><li><strong>Prospect &amp; Research:</strong> Identify and research high-potential D2C brands across the sports, fitness, and wellness verticals.</li><li><strong>Outbound Engagement:</strong> Execute targeted outbound campaigns through email, cold calling, and social media to generate interest and book discovery calls.</li><li><strong>Lead Qualification:</strong> Pre-qualify inbound and outbound leads based on brand size, goals, and fit for OPTYO’s offerings.</li><li><strong>CRM Management:</strong> Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM, ensuring a smooth handoff to AEs.</li><li><strong>Sales Support:</strong> Assist AEs in prepping for pitches and proposals, organizing account information, and following up with prospects.</li><li><strong>Team Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership to align outreach efforts with strategic goals.</li><li><strong>Learn &amp; Grow:</strong> Continuously refine your skills in sales outreach, messaging, and brand storytelling with support and mentorship from senior team members.</li></ol><p><br /></p><p><strong>What We Are Looking For</strong></p><ol><li>Have 1–2 years of experience in a sales, lead generation, or client-facing role (agency or startup experience is a plus).</li><li>Are highly organized, self-motivated, and excited by the idea of earning through performance.</li><li>Thrive in a fast-paced environment where every conversation could lead to a new client.</li><li>Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Understand the basics of D2C marketing or have a genuine interest in the sports &amp; fitness space.</li></ol><p><br /></p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ol><li>Competitive salary + performance-based incentives</li><li>Medical, dental, and 401(k) benefits</li><li>Complimentary gym access</li><li>A collaborative, athlete-minded culture that celebrates results</li><li>Exposure to innovative brands shaping the future of sports and fitness</li></ol><p><br /></p><p><strong>In-Office | San Diego, CA | Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm</strong></p><ul><li><em>This is a full-time, in-person role based in San Diego.
