<p></p><h3>About the Job </h3><p>As a Culinary Specialist, you’ll be in charge of preparing and serving large-scale meals comparable to any major restaurant so that Soldiers can sit down and enjoy a hot meal in between training or mission deployments. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and service of meals both in the field and at home stations, as well as ordering, inspecting food supplies, and keeping the kitchen safe and sanitary. </p><h3>Position requirements: (Responsibilities) </h3><ul><li>Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and saute as prescribed by Army recipes. </li><li>Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment. </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment. </li> </ul><h3>General Qualifications </h3><ul><li>Must have an interest in joining the Army. </li><li>U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien. </li><li>17 to 34 years old. </li><li>Healthy and in good physical condition. </li><li>In good moral standing with no felony-level offenses. </li><li>Must be able to meet height/weight standards. </li><li>No major medical procedures that would prohibit you from service. </li><li>No tattoos on the hands, neck, or face. </li><li>Pass (ASVAB). </li> </ul><h3>REQUIREMENTS </h3><ul><li>10 weeks of Basic Training. </li><li>9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. </li><li>85 ASVAB Score: Operators & Food (OF). </li> </ul><h3>CERTIFICATIONS </h3><ul><li>28 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available. </li> </ul><h3>Compensation </h3><ul><li>Up to $20K enlistment bonuses. </li><li>Up to $115,000 for additional education benefits. </li><li>Additional living expenses for those who have dependents. </li><li>Clothing and food allowance. </li><li>Centrally located Education and Financial Advisors. </li><li>Travel. </li> </ul><h3>Education </h3><p><b>The Post-9/11 GI Bill </b><br />The most popular GI Bill program, the Post-9/11 GI Bill provides up to full college tuition, as well as money for housing and books. Paid directly to the school, the program covers up to full tuition for public, in-state schools and up to $25,000 per year at private or foreign schools, depending on your length of service. </p><p><b>The Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve </b><br />This program helps members of the Army Reserve pay for education benefits for a maximum of 36 months, in return for a six-year service commitment. These benefits must be used while you are serving and end when you stop serving. </p><p><b>STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM </b> </p><p>Enlisted Army Reserve Soldiers can combine their cash accession bonus with a Student Loan repayment agreement. In-demand jobs can qualify for up to $50,000 to repay your current outstanding student loan debt, and up to $30,000 is available for all other jobs.
