<p></p><p>In Health Information Management at Main Campus Park Place North </p> <p>Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, 8:00 am -4:30 pm. </p> <h3>Summary </h3> <p>The HIM Specialist is under the supervision of the HIM Operations Manager, performs all activities involved in the preparation of medical records for the document imaging and management process and/or ensuring good image quality as well as verification and validation of all patient encounters for COA. </p> <h3>Other Information </h3> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical skills to include data gathering, fact-finding, and report generation using word processing, spreadsheets, and database tools. </li> <li>Proficiency with personal computers to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. </li> <li>Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. </li> <li>Must have ability to work well with others. </li> <li>Must be able to work independently or with very general direction. </li> </ul> <h3>Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications </h3> <ul> <li>Nonessential: Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator </li> </ul> <h3>Education with Equivalent Qualifications </h3> <ul> <li>Essential: High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent or any of the following equivalent qualifications below: <ul> <li>Registered Health Information Administrator </li> <li>Registered Health Information Technician </li> </ul> </li> <li>Nonessential: Associates Degree in Health Information Management or Bachelors of Science or Arts in Health Information Management </li> </ul> <h3>Experience with Equivalent Qualifications </h3> <p>2 years experience in Health Information department required </p> <h3>Additional Information </h3> <p>The best description for the HIM department can be pulled from our accrediting body AHIMA – “Health information management is the practice of acquiring, analyzing, and protecting digital and traditional medical information vital to providing quality patient care.
