<p></p><h3>Job Summary </h3><p>The Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining, verifying, and maintaining insurance authorizations for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and related behavioral health services. The role serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely approval of services, minimize treatment disruptions, and support revenue cycle operations through accurate documentation and authorization tracking. </p><h3>Key Responsibilities </h3><ul><li>Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for MAT and behavioral health services. </li><li>Obtain initial and continued service authorizations from insurance carriers and managed care organizations. </li><li>Monitor authorization expiration dates and submit renewal requests to prevent gaps in treatment. </li><li>Maintain accurate authorization records within the electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems. </li><li>Communicate with clinical staff regarding authorization requirements, denials, and approval status. </li><li>Review medical documentation to support authorization requests and appeals. </li><li>Follow up on pending authorizations and resolve insurance-related issues promptly. </li><li>Assist with denial management, appeals, and payer correspondence. </li><li>Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. </li><li>Generate reports and track authorization metrics to support operational and financial performance. </li><li>Maintain regular attendance and adapt to flexible work schedules as needed. </li> </ul><h3>Education </h3><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. </li> </ul><h3>License </h3><ul><li>Current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. </li> </ul><h3>Preferred Experience </h3><ul><li>Insurance verification, authorization, or healthcare billing experience. </li> </ul><h3>Work Schedule </h3><ul><li>Full-Time; Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. </li><li>Additional crisis stipend: 10 %. </li><li>Salary: $23.03 per hour. </li> </ul><h3>Employee Benefits </h3><ul><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance </li><li>Generous vacation/holiday/sick leave </li><li>Life and Short-term/Long-term Disability Insurance </li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li><li>403(b) retirement account </li><li>Gold's Gym membership discount </li><li>Mileage reimbursement </li> </ul><h3>Legal &amp; Location </h3><p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, sex, or age.
