<p></p><p><b>Starting Date: </b> Immediately </p><h3>Wraparound Specialist </h3><p>Harris County Department of Education HIGHPOINT EAST - Houston, Texas Open in Google Maps </p><h3>Job Description </h3><h3>Primary Purpose </h3><p>The purpose of this role is to provide targeted interventions, coordinate internal and external support services, and develop Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) to address non-academic barriers to student success. By connecting students and families to meaningful resources, the Wraparound Specialist helps the campus take a proactive, data-driven approach to improving outcomes, increasing family engagement, and reducing disciplinary incidents, chronic absenteeism, and disengagement. </p><h3>Qualifications </h3><h3>Education/Certification </h3><ul><li>Master’s degree from an accredited university </li><li>Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and the ability to obtain the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) credential within 6 months. </li> </ul><h3>Special Knowledge/Skills </h3><ul><li>Working knowledge of substance use disorders. </li><li>Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to coordinate individual and group sessions. </li><li>General knowledge of computer systems and software applications. </li><li>Knowledge of trauma-informed care, restorative practices, behavior intervention strategies, and case management. </li><li>Reliable transportation to/from work and between worksites. </li> </ul><h3>Experience </h3><ul><li>Experience in working with at-risk youth, families, and community agencies. </li><li>Experience with crisis intervention and community resource coordination preferred. </li> </ul><h3>Major Responsibilities and Duties </h3><h3>Student Intervention and Support </h3><ul><li>Identify students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance, social-emotional, or family-related challenges. </li><li>Conduct needs assessments to determine barriers to student success. </li><li>Develop individualized wraparound support plans that align interventions with student needs. </li><li>Provide ongoing case management and monitor student progress toward intervention goals. </li> </ul><h3>Coordination of Services </h3><ul><li>Connect students and families with school-based and community-based services such as: </li><ul><li>Mental health counseling </li><li>Substance abuse programs </li><li>Housing and food resources </li><li>Medical and wellness support </li><li>Mentoring and family support agencies </li> </ul><li>Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care between service providers and the school. </li> </ul><h3>Family Engagement </h3><ul><li>Build trusting relationships with families to increase collaboration and support. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between the school and home to improve communication and access to resources. </li><li>Empower families by helping them navigate community agencies and support systems. </li><li>Work closely with administrators, counselors, teachers, attendance staff, and behavior support teams to identify student concerns and implement interventions. </li><li>Participate in student support meetings, attendance review committees, and behavior intervention planning. </li><li>Provide staff with guidance on trauma-informed strategies and available student resources. </li> </ul><h3>Crisis Response </h3><ul><li>Assist with crisis intervention for students experiencing immediate emotional, behavioral, or environmental crises. </li><li>Coordinate urgent support services for students and families in need. </li> </ul><h3>Data Collection and Program Accountability </h3><ul><li>Maintain documentation of interventions, referrals, student progress, and outcomes. </li><li>Track trends in attendance, discipline, and student engagement to measure program effectiveness. </li><li>Provide reports demonstrating the impact of wraparound services on student success indicators. </li> </ul><h3>Position Details </h3><p><b>Position Type: </b> Full-Time </p><p><b>Salary: </b> $72,822 to $85,895 Per Year </p><h3>Job Requirements </h3><ul><li>Citizenship, residency or work visa required </li> </ul><h3>Contact Information </h3><ul><li>Human Resources </li><li>6300 Irvington Blvd. </li><li>Houston, Texas 77022 </li><li>Phone: </li><li>Email: </li> </ul><h3>Map </h3><p>The content you submit, offer, contribute, attach, post, or display (each a “Submission”) will be viewed by other users of the service who may or may not be accurately representing who they are or who they represent.
