Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as HSBC will not engage in immigration sponsorship for this position. </p><p>The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) supports the US Regulatory Reporting change delivery and system maintenance (including RWAs), providing end‑to‑end business analysis across change initiation, requirements definition, process and control design, testing support, implementation and benefits realization. </p><p>The SBA will help deliver regulatory reporting change driven by Basel III reforms and ongoing regulatory developments issued by the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) (the ‘US Agencies’). The role ensures impacts to calculations, processes, data sourcing, controls and regulatory deliverables/submissions are assessed, documented, governed and embedded sustainably. </p><p>As part of the Regulatory Reporting Value Stream, the SBA partners with Finance, Technology and Operations to ensure solutions meet business needs, align to Group standards, and strengthen the integrity of regulatory reporting controls. </p><h3>Responsibilities </h3><ul><li>Lead the elicitation, analysis and documentation of high‑quality business requirements, including functional and non‑functional requirements, data requirements, reporting requirements and control requirements. </li><li>Produce and maintain key business analyst artefacts, including process maps, process design documentation, business rules and calculation logic documentation (where applicable), data lineage/sourcing documentation (as required), impact assessments and traceability matrices. </li><li>Translate regulatory and policy requirements into clear, testable requirements and user stories where Agile is used. </li><li>Partner with Technology to ensure requirements are understood, solution options are assessed and trade‑offs are clearly articulated for decision‑making. </li><li>Support solution design by validating proposed changes against business intent, regulatory expectations and operational feasibility. </li><li>Define and support testing approach and execution, including test scenario design and test case creation, support for SIT/UAT, defect triage and prioritization, and validation of outcomes against requirements. </li><li>Support training, cutover planning and implementation activities to embed changes into BAU processes. </li><li>Validate the integrity and quality of inputs and data sources used for regulatory reporting processes. </li><li>Monitor progress of data quality issue remediation plans and ensure requirements address root causes. </li><li>Strengthen the control environment by documenting business process controls and supporting syndication/approval with Risk Stewards, Risk Owners, Controls Office and Control Owners. </li><li>Support internal and external audit and assurance reviews related to regulatory reporting change delivery. </li><li>Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance. </li><li>Prepare governance cadence materials (status, RAID, decisions) and track actions to ensure follow‑through. </li><li>Provide clear, concise updates on scope, requirements, dependencies, risks and issues;
