This role combines deep expertise in public cloud cost governance, cost allocation, and data analysis with strong program execution to embed cost awareness into engineering decisions. </p><h3>Key Responsibilities </h3><p><b>Governance &amp; Strategic Leadership </b> </p><ul><li>Lead FinOps governance and rhythms of business within a Line of Business, including forecasting, budgeting, optimization tracking, and reporting. </li><li>Establish and maintain monthly forecasts and long‑range plans for cloud cost and usage. </li><li>Act as the primary FinOps practitioner for a Strategic Line of Business, driving accountability and visibility. </li><li>Define and manage KPIs and metrics to track performance and outcomes. </li> </ul><p><b>Cost Awareness &amp; Architecture Integration </b> </p><ul><li>Partner with engineering teams to embed cost awareness into design and architecture decisions. </li><li>Provide cost‑to‑serve insights to inform pricing strategies and capacity planning. </li> </ul><p><b>Optimization &amp; Enablement </b> </p><ul><li>Identify, prioritize, and drive execution of cost optimization opportunities. </li><li>Support commitment strategies and partner with engineering on forecasting and budgets. </li><li>Drive tagging, allocations, and unit‑cost visibility across services and teams. </li><li>Enable teams with dashboards, training, and anomaly detection practices. </li> </ul><p><b>Reporting &amp; Tooling </b> </p><ul><li>Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud cost, optimization progress, and risks. </li><li>Translate complex billing data into actionable insights for engineering and business stakeholders. </li><li>Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams on demand planning and cost management. </li><li>Partner with stakeholders to reconcile cloud spend and ensure accountability. </li> </ul><h3>Required Skills &amp; Experience </h3><p><b>Experience </b> </p><ul><li>5+ years in FinOps or cloud financial management roles. </li><li>Minimum 2+ years hands‑on experience with GCP (or similar – AWS, Azure) billing concepts. </li> </ul><p><b>Technical Skills </b> </p><ul><li>Strong proficiency in Excel and enterprise financial systems (SAP, Oracle). </li><li>Familiarity with cloud‑native cost tools and third‑party FinOps platforms. </li> </ul><p><b>Core Competencies </b> </p><ul><li>Budget governance and forecasting. </li><li>Cost allocation and tagging strategies. </li><li>Advanced data analysis and reporting. </li><li>Strong collaboration and communication skills. </li> </ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications </h3><ul><li>FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional. </li><li>Experience with multi‑cloud environments. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred). </li> </ul><h3>Pay </h3><p>The pay range for this position is $102,300 to $161,755.
