<p>We are a fast-growing mobile technology company building a next-generation navigation application that is changing how people move through cities. Our platform introduces innovative, privacy-first features that go beyond traditional turn-by-turn navigation—making urban travel smarter, safer, and more connected. </p><p>As part of our next growth phase, we are transitioning all application development in-house. We are looking for motivated, high-impact developers who can quickly review an existing codebase, ramp up fast, and begin contributing to feature development immediately. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments, take ownership of their work, and are excited to help shape the technical foundation of a rapidly evolving product. </p><p>You’ll have the opportunity to influence architecture, improve performance and scalability, and play a key role in defining the future of our navigation platform. </p><p><strong>Role Description </strong> </p><p>We are seeking a Mobile Application Developer to play a key role in building and scaling a next-generation navigation platform. This position is designed for a highly experienced, hands-on engineer who can quickly evaluate an existing codebase, contribute immediately, and help guide technical direction as development moves fully in-house. </p><p>You will work across mobile and backend integrations, collaborate closely with systems engineers and product designers, and take ownership of delivering a reliable, high-performance mobile experience. This role offers meaningful influence over architecture, development standards, and the evolution of a rapidly growing product. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong> </p><ul><li>Own the design, development, and maintenance of cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android. </li><li>Review, refactor, and extend an existing codebase with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability. </li><li>Lead API integrations supporting authentication, data synchronization, and real-time updates. </li><li>Implement and optimize mapping, geolocation, and navigation features using platforms such as Google Maps, Mapbox, or OpenStreetMap. </li><li>Integrate third-party location and discovery services including Mapbox, Foursquare, and Yelp. </li><li>Establish and enforce best practices for clean architecture, modular code, testing, and performance optimization. </li><li>Partner closely with UI/UX designers to translate product requirements into intuitive, polished mobile experiences. </li><li>Participate in and lead code reviews, raising overall engineering quality and consistency. </li><li>Troubleshoot complex issues across devices, operating systems, and environments. </li><li>Support and improve deployment workflows across development, staging, and production. </li> </ul><p><strong>Qualifications </strong> </p><p><strong>Required: </strong> </p><ul><li>Expert knowledge using Python/Django and Ruby </li><li>Expert-level experience with Python/Django and Ruby in production systems. </li><li>5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development. </li><li>Strong hands-on experience with cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter, React Native, or Xamarin. </li><li>Deep understanding of mobile application architecture, state management, and lifecycle patterns. </li><li>Proven experience working with mapping SDKs, geolocation services, and navigation logic. </li><li>Strong experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and mentor other engineers. </li><li>Excellent debugging, testing, and performance optimization skills. </li> </ul><p><strong>Preferred: </strong> </p><ul><li>Prior experience building navigation, transportation, or real-time data platforms. </li><li>Experience in startup or fast-growth environments requiring speed, ownership, and adaptability. </li><li>Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud-based or DevOps workflows. </li> </ul><p><strong>What We Offer </strong> </p><ul><li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Flexible hybrid/remote work options </li><li>Opportunity to work with a team from the beginning. </li><li>A collaborative team focused on real-world impact through smart navigation technology </li> </ul> #J-18808-Ljbffr
