<p></p><h3>Job Summary </h3><p>Our client provides Engineering solutions and technical support to their partners in the Oil & Gas, LNG and Green Energy sectors. They have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior/Principal Designer (CAD systems administration) to join their team in Houston. </p><p><b>Job Summary: </b>Senior Principal Piping Designer to lead complex piping design efforts and provide technical leadership in CAD systems administration, project setup, and execution using Autodesk Plant 3D. </p><p><b>Responsibilities: </b> </p><ul><li>Lead piping design activities on large-scale, multi-discipline projects from concept through to construction. </li><li>Develop and review piping layouts, isometric drawings, piping general arrangements, and P&IDs using Autodesk Plant 3D. </li><li>Set up and administer CAD project environments, including Plant 3D configuration, specs, catalogs, templates, and folder structures. </li><li>Manage CAD standards and ensure compliance across projects and teams. </li><li>Troubleshoot CAD-related issues, provide user support, and implement solutions to improve workflows and productivity. </li><li>Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure model integration and minimize clashes. </li><li>Conduct and lead 3D model reviews using tools such as Navisworks. </li><li>Provide mentorship, technical support, and guidance to piping designers and drafting teams. </li><li>Assist with field reviews, redlines, and construction support activities as needed. </li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, client standards, and design practices. </li> </ul><p><b>Required Qualifications: </b> </p><ul><li>Grade 12 high school diploma (or equivalent) required & associates degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in piping design within engineering, EPC, or industrial environments. </li><li>Advanced experience with Autodesk Plant 3D, including project setup, catalog and spec development, and tool customization. </li><li>Proven track record in CAD administration, including system setup, configuration, deployment, and standards enforcement. </li><li>Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and supports in accordance with industry codes and practices (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.). </li><li>Ability to lead a design team and coordinate effectively across disciplines. </li><li>Proficient with AutoCAD and familiar with Navisworks for 3D coordination and clash detection. </li><li>Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality. </li><li>In depth knowledge and/or use of Tier I or Tier II 3D modeling software (e.g. S3D, PDMS, PDS, CADWorx, etc.). </li><li>Knowledgeable of piping related industry standards. </li><li>Aptitude with Software (Microsoft Office Suite). </li><li>Strong team-player attitude. </li><li>Knowledge of P&IDs and Piping Specifications and Standards. </li><li>Capable of working independently. </li> </ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications: </b> </p><ul><li>Additional technical training or certification in CAD, piping design, or engineering technology. </li><li>Experience in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, energy, or water infrastructure. </li><li>Familiarity with other design tools such as Revit, SmartPlant 3D, or AVEVA E3D. </li> </ul><p>Ellaway Blues Consulting is an Equal Opportunities Employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates. </p> <p></p> #J-18808-Ljbffr
