The Money team is the financial engine at the core of our platform, responsible for ensuring that every dollar is processed, moved, and accounted for with impeccable accuracy and reliability. We build the critical infrastructure that allows restaurants to process payments, get paid, and grow their business.</p><br /><p>We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to help us design and build the next generation of our financial products. You will tackle complex challenges in payments, money movement, fraud prevention, and financial automation.</p><br /><h3>What You’ll Do</h3><br /><p>As a Senior Engineer on the Money team, you will architect, build, and scale the mission‑critical systems that handle our financial operations. Your work will be pivotal in building trust with our customers and enabling new product capabilities. You’ll have opportunities to focus on:</p><br /><ul><br /><li>Engineer and maintain our core payment capabilities, focusing on high availability, security and scalability. You’ll ensure every transaction is fast, secure and reliable.</li><br /><li>Develop robust, reliable APIs and services that power money movement to help restaurants manage their cash flow effectively.</li><br /><li>Build the backend systems for customer‑facing products like billing and invoicing.</li><br /><li>Build and design systems to improve fraud detection and response.</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Core Responsibilities</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Architect and implement highly available, fault‑tolerant backend systems and APIs for payment processing, money movement, fraud, and financial reconciliation.</li><br /><li>Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders and other engineers to design and deliver business goals.</li><br /><li>Drive technical excellence through rigorous code reviews, automated testing and clear documentation.</li><br /><li>Mentor other engineers and lead complex technical projects, contributing to the team’s long‑term vision and strategy.</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>What We’re Looking For</h3><br /><p>We value engineers who are passionate about building resilient, trustworthy financial systems and are excited to solve complex problems in the payments domain.</p><br /><h3>Basic Qualifications</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Proficiency in backend programming languages like Java or Go.</li><br /><li>Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).</li><br /><li>Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.</li><br /><li>Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systems.</li><br /><li>Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time spent in payments, billing or financial technology.</li><br /><li>Deep understanding of the payment processing lifecycle, including authorization, capture, settlement and reconciliation.</li><br /><li>Direct experience with payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, PayPal).</li><br /><li>Demonstrated experience in architecting and operating large‑scale, fault‑tolerant distributed systems that handle financial data.</li><br /><li>Knowledge of fraud detection techniques and experience building or integrating with risk management systems.</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Benefits Summary (USA Full‑Time Exempt Employees)</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Medical, dental and vision insurance (multiple plans, including HSA options)</li><br /><li>Company‑paid life and disability insurance (short‑ and long‑term)</li><br /><li>Voluntary insurance: accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity</li><br /><li>Optional supplemental life insurance for self, spouse and children</li><br /><li>401(k)</li><br /><li>Discretionary vacation days</li><br /><li>8 paid holidays per year</li><br /><li>Health Savings Account (HSA)</li><br /><li>Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care, Commuter)</li><br /></ul><br /><p>The base salary range for this role is $176,000 - $242,000 per year.
