Senior Software Engineer

<div><p><b>New York City | $400,000 to $500,000 total compensation</b></p><br /><p>We are working with an exciting new exchange joint venture backed by leading financial institutions, building out a world-class engineering team in New York.</p><br /><p>This is a senior role for a low-latency C++ engineer who enjoys working close to the metal, optimising performance-critical systems and solving problems where microseconds, memory behaviour and network efficiency genuinely matter.</p><br /><p>The team is looking for someone with deep experience in modern C++, high-performance systems and trading infrastructure. You will be working on critical applications across the exchange technology stack, with a focus on refactoring, performance optimisation, network utilisation and low-latency design.</p><br /><h3>What you will be doing</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Refactoring and optimising performance-sensitive C++ applications</li><br /><li>Improving latency, throughput and network utilisation across core systems</li><br /><li>Designing internal APIs and protocols for high-performance integration</li><br /><li>Working on multi-threaded systems, lock-free queues and memory optimisation</li><br /><li>Analysing performance across CPU, cache, network and application layers</li><br /><li>Supporting production systems and resolving issues in real time</li><br /><li>Collaborating with a high-calibre engineering team on low-latency architecture</li><br /><li>Mentoring junior engineers and helping raise technical standards across the group</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>What we are looking for</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>10+ years of experience building low-latency applications in modern C++</li><br /><li>Strong understanding of cache coherency, core isolation, memory management and data structure optimisation</li><br /><li>Experience with multi-threaded design and lock-free programming techniques</li><br /><li>Strong knowledge of TCP, UDP, latency measurement and throughput analysis</li><br /><li>Strong debugging skills and the ability to support critical production systems</li><br /><li>Experience with Git/GitLab, Wireshark and related engineering tools</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Highly desirable</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Experience with exchange connectivity, market data, order gateways, matching engines or trading systems</li><br /><li>Knowledge of FIX or exchange-specific protocols</li><br /><li>Experience with Solarflare hardware configuration, OpenOnload or related network acceleration technologies</li><br /><li>Background in electronic trading, exchanges, market infrastructure, hedge funds or high-frequency trading environments</li><br /></ul><br /><p>This is a strong opportunity for a senior engineer who wants to work on genuinely demanding low-latency systems within a high-profile financial technology buildout.</p></div><br />#J-18808-Ljbffr
