Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.</p><br /><h3>Base pay range</h3><br /><p>$75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr</p><br /><h3>Position Overview</h3><br /><p>We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processes at Critchfield Mechanical Inc, a mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC and plumbing. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of weekly union and non-union payroll.</p><br /><p>The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of payroll experience, including construction industry, union payroll expertise, certified payroll, and OCIP/CCIP time reporting.</p><br /><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in accordance with labor agreements and project requirements</li><br /><li>Prepare and submit monthly certified payroll reports for public works and prevailing wage projects</li><br /><li>Prepare monthly union benefit statements and ensure accurate and timely remittance to union trust funds</li><br /><li>Stay current on prevailing wage determinations and ensure compliance on government-funded projects</li><br /><li>Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee hours, job classifications, project coding, and job cost allocations</li><br /><li>Handle quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, W-2s, and year-end reporting in coordination with finance team</li><br /><li>Support internal and external audits (e.g., union audits, DOL audits) by providing payroll data and documentation</li><br /><li>Prepare monthly payroll reports for OCIP/CCIP projects</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Qualifications</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a union or construction-related environment</li><br /><li>Strong understanding of union labor practices and certified payroll requirements</li><br /><li>Proficient in construction payroll and job costing software (e.g., Foundation, Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, or similar)</li><br /><li>High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail</li><br /><li>Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li><br /><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Education & Certifications</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Construction Industry Experience <b>Required.</b></li><br /><li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field <b>Preferred, Not Required</b></li><br /></ul><br /><h3>What We Offer</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Competitive compensation based on experience</li><br /><li>Comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer paid medical, dental and life insurance.
