Clinical Nurse Specialist

<div><h3>Job Description</h3><br /><p>Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialist will mainly be responsible for the quality of nurse practices and patient care within the Oncology unit. The nurse specialist serves as a senior clinical practitioner and provides consultation for nursing.</p><br /><h3>Major Responsibilities</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Set patient care standards</li><br /><li>Determines need for practice change through research evidence and clinical inquiry.</li><br /><li>Evaluates patient outcomes for cost-effectiveness</li><br /><li>Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.</li><br /><li>Lead Oncology Nurse Staff education by<br /> <ul><br /><li>Updating nurse staff on latest research evidence</li><br /><li>Implementing education programs, as needed, for patient, and families in addition to nurses</li><br /><li>Teaching and mentoring nursing personnel in patient care implementation and development</li><br /><li>Assessing organizational factors that affect patient populations, quality, resources, and costs of care</li><br /><li>Leading scholarly meetings with educational materials</li><br /><li>Influencing policy implementations and changes in the Oncology unit</li><br /></ul><br /></li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Qualifications</h3><br /><p><b>Experience:</b></p><br /><ul><br /><li>At least 5 years of recent experience Oncology experience, required</li><br /><li>At least 2 years of management experience or working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, required</li><br /></ul><br /><p><b>Education:</b></p><br /><ul><br /><li>Master’s degree in Nursing required.</li><br /><li>Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure required.</li><br /><li>Educational preparation as a Clinical Nurse Specialist highly desired.</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>Additional Information</h3><br /><p>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</p></div><br />#J-18808-Ljbffr
