Do you want to build transactional systems where your design decisions set the pattern other engineers follow?</p><br /><p>On offer is a high-impact opportunity with a well-funded travel-tech/hospitality platform, where you’ll take technical ownership of an external booking API used by distribution partners and approved AI agents.</p><br /><p>You’ll partner with a Staff Engineer on foundational architecture, with clear support for development through monthly feedback and a training stipend for courses/certifications. As a result of continued growth and expansion into new verticals (including spas), they’re adding to the team to scale the platform.</p><br /><p>In this role you’ll design and build “bulletproof” transactional workflows (inventory constraints, idempotency, concurrency, webhooks, failure recovery) across Node.js services backed by Postgres on AWS with Datadog.</p><br /><p>This role would suit a Senior Backend Engineer who wants deeper technical ownership, platform-level impact, and a genuine path toward Staff through delivery and influence.</p><br /><h3>The Role:</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Own API design and day-to-day technical decisions for an external booking API</li><br /><li>Build transactional workflows: inventory constraints, idempotency, concurrency, webhooks, failure recovery</li><br /><li>Evolve booking domain/data models supporting multiple product categories and integrations</li><br /><li>On-site role in NYC, Monday–Thursday 9:30am - 5:30pm</li><br /></ul><br /><h3>The Person:</h3><br /><ul><br /><li>Hands-on experience with Postgres and AWS (bonus: Datadog, Redis, Kafka)</li><br /><li>Enjoys owning systems end-to-end and setting patterns for other engineers</li><br /><li>Able to be in New York 4 days per week.</li><br /></ul><br /><p>We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates.</p></div><br />#J-18808-Ljbffr
