Description

Tacoma Public Utilities is building a People & Culture function, and we're hiring for our team. This role keeps our people programs running — the Mentor Program, the Internship Program, and the division equity committees, along with the fellowship, outreach, retention, and employee engagement work that sits alongside them.

These programs are built and running. Keeping them running well is yours — the planning, the coordination, the communications, the records, and the reporting that tells us how things are actually going. We're looking for someone who plans well, finishes what they start, communicates so that people always know what's coming next, and is just as good at carrying out a plan.

The point of all of it is to help TPU attract, develop, and keep talented people, and to make belonging a part of how we build things rather than a separate effort. If you like taking a good idea or concept and turning it into something that runs, we'd like to meet you.

Minimum Education*

Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or directly related field

Minimum Experience*

4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or program coordination/management work in area related to assignment (e.g, workforce programs, employee engagement, project administration, human resources, communications, event planning, organizational initiatives)

*Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Desired Qualifications

Experience coordinating projects or programs from start to finish, including building and following a work plan

Experience administering mentorship, internship, fellowship, workforce development, outreach, retention, or employee engagement programs

Experience supporting committees, advisory groups, or employee resource groups

Experience with workforce analytics, dashboards, reporting, performance measurement, and program tracking systems

Experience in a public sector, utility, government, educational, or highly regulated environment

Training or certification in project management, facilitation, workforce development, change management, or data analytics.

City of Tacoma Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

At the City of Tacoma, we're on a mission to make our workforce as diverse and inclusive as the community we serve. We're committed to eliminating racial and other disparities, and we actively seek out candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Join our team at the City of Tacoma and help us build a more vibrant, inclusive, and equitable community for all.

The City of Tacoma believes that diversity of thought, background, and experience contributes to our success and innovation. If you have a less traditional background, we want to hear about your transferrable skills and experience. We value a variety of perspectives and are excited to see what you bring to the table.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Details:

Hourly Rate: $47.25 - $66.50

Annual Salary: $98,280.00 - $138,320.00

Employee Benefits | City of Tacoma

#J-18808-Ljbffr
