Driver Leader - Ellenwood, GA<br />ELLENWOOD USX TERMINAL<br /><br />Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM<br /><br />Position open to remote: No<br /><br />Grade: ES11<br /><br />Compensation Range: $47,300 - $60,000<br /><br />The Driver Leader executes on U.S. Xpress’ initiatives daily with an obsession around driver satisfaction and customer focus. The Driver Leader is flexible and ready to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the industry and challenge of the day.<br /><br />Position Functions<br /><br />Supervise driver performance according to company policies, DOT regulations, and all federal and local rules.<br /><br />Directly supervise multiple drivers at any given time.<br /><br />Ensure driver satisfaction over the road.<br /><br />Make recommendations for performance documentation to include promotions and/or terminations.<br /><br />Address issues and disputes for drivers.<br /><br />Promote safe operations.<br /><br />Manage driver capacity by maintaining seated truck count and accurate driver PTAs.<br /><br />Ensure drivers and equipment are performing to provide on-time service.<br /><br />Manage company performance objectives with drivers and monitor that performance.<br /><br />Monitor and manage KPIs around P&amp;L, Safety, Fuel Management, and Utility.<br /><br />Ensure on-time service is met, addressing service issues in a timely manner and coordinating with USX Customer Service when applicable.<br /><br />Communicate service deviations to Customer Service in a timely manner.<br /><br />Collaborate cross-functionally to support culture and live out our mission and core values.<br /><br />Answer incoming phone calls, live chats, and emails to assist drivers with delays, service issues, trailers, payroll, etc.<br /><br />Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence.<br /><br />Attend in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives, offering input and advice.<br /><br />Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectations.<br /><br />Education<br /><br />High school diploma or GED equivalent required.<br /><br />Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required.<br /><br />Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.<br /><br />Experience<br /><br />2+ years of experience in a driver or customer-facing role.<br /><br />Transportation, logistics, and/or tech industry experience is a plus.<br /><br />Skills &amp; Abilities<br /><br />Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.<br /><br />Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change.<br /><br />Works quickly and efficiently; able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly.<br /><br />Proactive and pragmatic problem solver.<br /><br />Communicates effectively across multiple mediums.<br /><br />Licenses &amp; Certifications<br />N/A<br /><br />Supervisory Responsibility<br />30 – 50 drivers<br /><br />Work Environment<br />This job operates in a normal professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and filing cabinets.<br /><br />Physical Requirements<br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to communicate or exchange information.
