POSITION<br /><br />Payroll Specialist<br />REPORTS TO<br /><br />SR. Human Resource Generalist<br />LOCATION<br /><br />Fresno, CA<br />SALARY<br /><br />$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE<br />COMPANY OVERVIEW<br /><br />Electric Motor Shop is a premier electrical contractor, motor repair shop and electrical supply wholesale distributor established in 1913. The company offers 24-hour service availability, a large stocking warehouse in Central California, and a licensed professional contracting division capable of servicing small to large industrial projects including custom panel design and installation, PLC programming, AC drives, and transformer installations.<br />JOB SUMMARY<br /><br />We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support key HR functions with a strong emphasis on payroll administration, benefits coordination, and HR reporting. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of employee compensation and benefit processes while contributing to data-driven decision-making through comprehensive reporting.<br />PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES<br /><br />Process payroll weekly, managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.<br />Input, review, audit time cards and verify accuracy of information. Communicates with supervisors and managers to correct time card issues.<br />Set up, process, and monitor garnishment orders (e.g., child support, levies, etc.).<br />Address and resolve employees' queries in a timely manner.<br />Monitor and process employee information updates in payroll system.<br />Process advance, termination and other out-of-cycle payments.<br />Process accurate and timely month-end reporting.<br />Sort and distribute weekly payroll checks to the appropriate managers.<br />Assist with Benefit open enrollment.<br />Generate and prepare weekly journal entries, reports and payroll spreadsheets.<br />Prepare and transmit weekly 401K.<br />Filing of HR and payroll documents.<br />Maintain and update EMS attendance calendar daily.<br />Maintain high level of confidentiality of sensitive information.<br />Perform other duties as assigned or required.<br />REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<br /><br />The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Education, experience, and skills:<br />High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.<br />A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.<br />Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, human resources, and payroll practices.<br />Experience working with accounting and payroll software. Isolved preferred.<br />Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<br />Strong organizational and time management skills.<br />Bilingual in Spanish preferred.<br />WORK ENVIRONMENT<br /><br />Environmental and work conditions: Office setting.
