Business Data Analyst - 86707

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst for a 12-month contract role (with the possibility of extension) with a public sector client of ours located in the Greater Victoria BC area. Candidates must be local to Victoria (or Vancouver Island) with the ability to work in a hybrid work model.<br /><br />The role focuses on translating high‑level business needs into actionable technical and functional requirements across complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.<br /><br />Scope of Work<br /><br />Lead technical business analysis activities across the full project lifecycle<br /><br />Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements<br /><br />Facilitate requirements workshops with business and technical teams<br /><br />Develop and maintain standard project artefacts (scope, process flows, test plans, operating models)<br /><br />Support solution design, data requirements, system integration, and SDLC alignment<br /><br />Coordinate system and user acceptance testing (UAT)<br /><br />Contribute to program planning and delivery activities<br /><br />Recommend and document process improvements and future‑state designs<br /><br />Project Context / Technology<br /><br />Municipal operational technology initiatives (Public Works focus)<br /><br />Systems such as SCADA, GIS, asset management, Routeware<br /><br />Strong preference for experience with Microsoft M365 ecosystem<br /><br />Exposure to cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and integration environments<br /><br />Required Profile<br /><br />Senior Technical BA with 5+ years experience (more preferred)<br /><br />Strong technical awareness: data, architecture, integration, and SDLC<br /><br />Experience in public sector environments strongly preferred<br /><br />Ability to work closely with Project Managers and technical teams<br /><br />Strong facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills<br /><br />Business Analysis certification (CBAP / PMI‑PBA) considered an asset<br /><br />Equal Opportunities<br />MatchBox is committed to providing equal opportunities for all applicants.
