Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst<br /><br />We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role serves as a critical financial partner between our operations teams and the private equity investment firms that own the agricultural land assets we manage. The FP&A Analysist will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, providing variance analysis with commentary, building and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to enhance strategic decision-making, portfolio performance reporting, sustainability ROI analysis, and long‑range financial planning across multiple managed properties. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious and able to quickly adapt to a fast‑paced working environment. This role is a critical business partner working closely with Regional Managers, VPs, warehouse teams, and funds to ensure financial transparency and accuracy in a timely manner.<br />Requirements<br /><br />Budgeting & Forecasting<br />Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts for farming operations.<br />Conduct budget vs. actual analysis, identifying key financial drivers, trends, and cost variances.<br />Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis, including crop yield projections, warehouse returns and packout analysis.<br />Reporting & Analysis<br />Develop tailored financial and operational reports to provide actionable insights to funds, VPs, and farm management teams.<br />Build and maintain dashboards tracking key operational and financial KPIs, such as farm profitability and cost per acre.<br />Prepare and distribute quarterly fund reports and monthly farm operational performance updates.<br />Assist in closing month‑end financials, preparing journal entries as needed.<br />Manage and reconcile monthly invoices, providing necessary backups.<br />Maintain and update master allocation sheets to track cost allocations.<br />Assist with maintaining accurate data records in financial systems and operational applications.<br />Oversee inventory management, including reconciliation and reporting.<br />Track and report monthly fruit packouts, working closely with warehouses.<br />Communication & Decision Support<br />Collaborate with area managers and VPs on a weekly basis to discuss financial insights and key performance indicators (KPIs).<br />Provide data‑driven insights to optimize farm operations, labor efficiency, and capital expenditures.<br />Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all financial reporting and analysis tools.<br />Qualifications<br />Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field, or the equivalent years of experience.<br />Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query is a plus), financial modeling, and data visualization tools (Power BI, SQL is a plus).<br />Experience with month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.<br />Knowledge of inventory management and cost allocation preferred.<br />Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills.<br />Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.<br />Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.<br />Preferred Experience<br />Experience in agriculture or farm management industries.<br />Experience supporting private equity portfolio companies or fund reporting.<br />Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software (Sage Intacct is a plus).<br />Understanding of warehouse operations and fresh produce inventory tracking.<br />Physical Requirements:<br />Prolonged sitting at a workstation for extended periods (6–8 hours/day) with regular use of a computer, keyboard, and multiple monitors.<br />Occasional standing, walking, and traversing uneven terrain during quarterly or more frequent site visits to managed orchard and farm properties, with walking distances up to 2–3 miles per visit.<br />Occasional lifting and carrying of materials up to 25 lbs (e.g., laptop bag, binders, field equipment).<br />Ability to drive to and between property locations; a valid driver’s license is required.<br />Occasional exposure to outdoor environments, including sun, dust, varying temperatures, and agricultural surroundings.<br />Travel up to 20% of the time, including overnight stays, for multi‑property site tours and private equity partner meetings.<br />Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.<br />This is a full‑time position with an on‑site work schedule at our corporate office in Quincy, WA, with occasional site visits to orchard properties or warehouses. Expected hours of work are M‑F, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.<br />The role operates within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven organization at the intersection of agriculture, sustainability, and institutional investment.<br />Collaborative, cross‑functional work is central to the role; the FP&A Analyst will regularly interface with Regional Managers, VPs, warehouse teams, and funds.<br />Seasonal intensity varies; Q3 & Q4 tend to be the most demanding periods due to budgeting cycles, annual investor reporting, and harvest‑season close processes.<br />Compensation range will be $25 - $40 per hour.
