Job Responsibilities
- Patrolling in assigned areas within municipal limits
- Maintaining law and order

Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 6 with a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹32,000 plus applicable allowances as per government norms.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of the following stages:
- Physical Standards Test (PST): Candidates will be checked for height, weight, and chest measurements as per eligibility criteria.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: 1600 meters race to be completed within 6 minutes 30 seconds
- Female: 800 meters race to be completed within 4 minutes
- Written Examination: Multiple choice questions on General Knowledge, General English, Logical Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.

- Medical Examination
Important Notice
Only those candidates who qualify in the PST/PET will be called for the written examination. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination only.

Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
- Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination are not eligible to apply.

Medical Standards:
- Candidates should be in good mental and physical health.
- They should be free from any physical defect, deformity, or disease likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
- Vision: Visual acuity unaided should be 6/6 for better eye and 6/9 for worse eye.
- Color vision: Normal, no color blindness (Candidates will be tested for color vision).
- Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery for correction of vision are eligible subject to certain conditions.
Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Candidates must be registered with the Employment Exchange in Assam.
- Candidates must be able to speak Assamese or any other local language of Assam.
